RARE JIMMY VICTOR BEGAY NAVAJO STERLING SILVER TURQUOISE VINTAGE CUFF BRACELET
JIMMY VICTOR BEGAY
Navajo silversmith Jimmy Victor Begay was active in the 1970s. Pieces by Jimmy Victor Begay are vintage and extremely rare.
Signed JVB, this 103.3g sterling and turquoise cuff features 5 enormous turquoise nuggets in graduated sizes surrounded by feather and floral motifs, scrolls and beads in sterling silver. Each nugget averages a half of an inch in width, and one inch, more or less, in length. 1.5 inches wide and its widest point, 1.25 inches at its narrowest, the cuff has about a 6 inch circumference excluding the opening.
Vibrant, well-saturated, deep greenish-blue turquoise nuggets with black matrix typical of the Kingman Mine; it is the GIA-certified gemologist's opinion that this turquoise is indeed from the Kingman Mine.
Moderate wear expected of a vintage piece; all markings crisp.
